Few events stand out as clearly in a woman’s memory as her own wedding day. In theory, it is the happiest day of one’s life – the culmination of an engagement and an affirmation of devotion and commitment. In practice, weddings are also about pomp, pageantry and perception. While the bride is expected to look her very best because all eyes are on her, the groom simply must focus on memorizing the wedding vows.
So much attention is lavished on the engagement ring and the wedding bands that it’s sometimes easy to overlook the other accessories that set a bride apart from the other women in attendance. Wedding bracelets are one such accoutrement; they add variety and flair to traditional chiffon wedding dresses and their distinct shine can be captured for posterity in all the wedding photos.
A few days ago, a lady came into my Boutique looking for a very particular Mother of Bride dress. I quizzed her on what style she was looking for. She was very vague. Something casual, yet dressy.
She tried on several dresses, but not any of them was what she was wanting. She just kept saying “this is not the look that I want”.
We were about ready to give up when she blurted out “I’m going to be barefooted. Aha! I had the perfect outfit.
I chose a multi colored skirt with muted colors of orange, yellow and two shades of green. The ankle length skirt was made of sheer 100% rayon slightly crinkled with mock pleats. It was lined with a soft yellow fabric. A ribbon border adorned the hem line. The skirt flowed around her ankles and gave a dress up or dress down appearance.
For the top I used a pale yellow cami underneath a three quarter sheer waist length jacket/shirt of the same pale yellow. The lady was thrilled and looked absolutely gorgeous in the outfit.
Beach weddings are rather more casual compared to formal weddings. However, it is essential to wear casual beach wedding dress that will give you the freedom to enjoy every bit of the occasion. A bride can adorn herself by wearing lightweight wedding gowns, either halter styles or backless long gowns. Another option is to wear a waterproof wedding gown to enjoy the beach fun and frolic with others. The bride can also add some pizzazz to her beach wedding gown by matching it with stylish flip-flops, or you can make the ceremony exceedingly casual by going barefoot.
As for the guests at a beach wedding, light linen clothes are also an option. Also be sure to pick out some casual bridal party dresses that don’t draw attention away from the bride.
Planning a wedding can be stressful, and in-between purchasing your wedding dress and the actual ceremony, it’s possible to deal with some sizing issues. Some women begin a dedicated regimen and shed unwanted pounds, while others may add a little weight during the last minute preparations. Altering your dress at the last minute can be pricey and unfeasible, and some women are finding it beneficial to use shapewear beneath their sexy wedding dresses.
Obviously before you do this, you want to consult the store where you are buying your dress, as well as making sure you know which garment you’re wearing with your wedding dress. You also want to consider the time of the year and the possible weather conditions (it might not be such a good idea to wear shapewear beneath your dress in the summer, but perfect for fall).
