Summer is traditionally the most popular of wedding seasons, and the dawn of spring is typically the time to vamp up planning efforts. While many of the big-ticket items have inevitably been marked off the checklist, small planning will inevitably continue until the day of the event. But whether the ceremony is conducted outdoors in the midst of nature’s splendor or inside a religious chapel, all eyes are trained on the bride.

Many brides adopt rigorous workout out regimens and crash diets in order to shed pounds prior to their nuptials. There is nothing wrong with wanting to look good on your wedding day, but these drastic measures are often unhealthy and the pounds lost are generally put right back on—and then some. Plus size wedding gowns feature the same gorgeous designs as typical dresses and flatter a curvy figure, so there is no need to push yourself to the brink just to drop a few dress sizes.

As I was flipping through the T V channels the other night, I happened upon a program about weddings.  I was enthralled with the beauty of the bridal gowns and all of the luxury that was poured into these weddings.  These weddings had to have cost a small fortune.

There was only one small problem.  At the end of the program, a statement was made concerning the fate of these  gorgeous dresses after the wedding.  The new fad is “Trash Your Wedding Gown”.  This blew my mind.

Brides, please don’t trash your wedding dress after the ceremony is over.  No matter what the cost of the wedding dress was, cheap or extravagant, There are those out there that would love a beautiful wedding gown to get married in but cannot afford whatever the cost.

Aside from the swimwear competition, one of the most awaited events during a beauty pageant is the long gown parade. This is where the candidates show off their poise and grace while modeling their plus size evening dresses of myriad colors and styles. They usually get to wear gowns from the designer of their choice, so it also shows their own personal sense of style. Here are some tips on choosing the gown that is right for you:

~Comfort should be the utmost concern. Whether you are joining a beauty contest or going to a black tie event, you should be able to move around with ease.

~Stand out. Stay away from fads if you want to stand out. Wearing a stylish gown that is cut in a classic manner speaks elegance.

~Don’t forget your posture. No matter how expensive your gown is, if you slouch and swagger like a sailor, you will never be able to carry off the look.

Weddings can be very expensive if you are not very careful.  With today’s economy, cut backs are common.  Cutting back on wedding expenses are not all that hard.

First of all, think about a back yard wedding  or a beach wedding.  You might even consider a park, that will have no rental fee.  Instead of having a dress rehearsal at some expensive hall and then the cost of feeding all of the wedding party, why not have an outdoor barbecue or potluck picnic.  An afternoon or morning wedding will eliminate the need for lights, which can be costly if very extravagant.  For the reception, hire a d- jay and play your favorite music.  A simply made wooden platform will suffice for a dance floor.  Keep the food simple, yet appetizing.  Instead of the traditional wedding dress and formal bridesmaid dresses, select something that is more casual.  Maybe something ankle length  for the bridesmaid dresses worn with strappy sandals, and for the bride a floor length sheath type sun dress.

You will be surprised at just how cheap your wedding can be.

Just because you wear plus size, does not mean that you will have to settle for anything that is not high fashion for your plus size evening dress.

In today’s market, with plus sizes taking about 75% of sales in the world’s apparel market, plus sizes have taken on a new look.  They now have all the fashion and glamour that standard size dresses have always had.

So, now go out, be extravagant and buy that gorgeous plus size evening dress and become a fashionistic.

With your best friend’s wedding only a few weeks away,  you realize that you have accumulated a few extra pounds over the last few months and that form fitting bridesmaid dress you will be wearing is a little snug.

Now is the time to act.  By crash dieting you not only injure your health, but usually the weight comes back as soon as you quit dieting.  Eating healthy and exercise is the best way to lose those unwanted pounds.  Walking is one of the best exercises you can do.  Yoga is great too.  You don’t have to join a gym or exercise group to do yoga.  There are DVD tapes available that you can do at home.  However, I find that if you have someone to exercise with, it is much more pleasureable. Core training exercises are good to use also.  I also reccomend the exercise ball.  It is great for stretching those taut muscles.

A few short weeks and that form fitting bridesmaid dress will fit perfect.

As you, a plus size mother of the bride begin your quest for your plus size mother of bride dress, are more than likely thinking you won’t find anything sexy or glamourous that will fit your body.

Well, think again.  Plus size mother of bride dresses are being made just as sexy and glamourous as any other mother of bride dress.  There are sites online that have a great collection and a lot of your specialty shops will carry these gorgeous dresses.

Look for a dress that is not form fitting with maybe a scoop neck to show off just enough of your bust, thin layers of chiffon fabric to overlap over the waist and hip area, and the skirt flowing around your ankles.  You will be a big hit.

A wedding dress is expected to meet great expectations.  All eyes will be focused on the wedding gown as the bride makes her way down the aisle in this once in a lifetime event.

The wedding dress should be elegant for the onlookers, yet still giving a look of mystique and romance for the husband to be.

For this reason, a wedding gown should have a unique look for that first impression as the bride starts her stroll down the aisle.

After choosing that perfect wedding dress, a brides second most important decision is choosing her music for the wedding.

Personally, I still prefer the familiar “Wedding March” for the bride’s walk down the aisle.  However, many brides want to customize their own music to meet their wants and needs, which is totally acceptable.

If you like classical music, some suggestions are “ode to Joy” by Beethoven, “Bridal Chorus” by Wagner, or “Allelujah” by Bach.  For a more contemporary  choice you might consider “Everything I Do” by Bryan Adams, “From this Moment” by Shania Twain, or “You’re Beautiful” by James Blunt.  These are just a few of the many songs you can choose.  You can find most of these online and even some you can download.

Whatever choice of music, combined with “that perfect wedding gown” you can’t miss having  a spectacular wedding.
