New styles and fashions have made it easier to shop for that ” o-so-perfect” plus size evening dress for that special occasion.

Different shaped women require different fitting gowns.  With a few little alterations,  like a nip and tuck here and a nip and tuck there,  most any plus sized evening gown can be transformed into a creation of beauty.

If customized to fit, for any particular plus sized woman, the plus sized evening dress can be worn with equal amounts of pride and confidence.

I cry at all weddings.  I have never been to a wedding that I did not think was beautiful.  A wedding is a union of two people who love each other and want to share their lives together.  How could this not be beautiful.  When the bride starts down the aisle in her carefully chosen wedding dress, looking a little apprehensive, a little scared, but very happy, I get these big goose bumps running up and down my spine.

This is truly a time for celebration.  This is a start of a new life, a new commitment for their selves and to each other.

My husband and I got hitched about a year ago – in fact, July 26 will mark our one-year anniversary. The wedding was a tremendous success, mostly because my mother and I worked diligently for months on end, making sure that everything would be perfect down to the tiniest detail. Since my husband works in the merchant marine and I’m an avid sailor, we settled upon a nautical theme.

The beach at my parents’ house provided an ideal setting for the ceremony, and I chose elegant yet cheap party favors that carried a distinct marine motif. Most notably, the frosted glass sailboat tea light holders cast a charming glow as the afternoon shifted into evening. I received plenty of compliments on my dress, which took me hours to find amongst all of the other sexy plus size wedding dresses, but just as many party guests were impressed with the flawless outdoor décor.

Even if that big day is nine to twelve months away, you should start planning as soon as possible.  It will save a lot of griefs later on.

Start out by starting a file.  I like the accordion file because you can get a lot of records in them.  Get a journal, one with a section for names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses, because you will want to save all contacts information.  Write down everything.  Even the most minute detail that you may need later.

Get ideas by wedding books, internet, and any other sources that assist you in your selections.

Don’t get over excited if you change your mind often.  It’s expected.  The main thing, by starting early, you have given yourself time to change ideas.

Your wedding dress should be ordered as early as possible.  Whether it be custom made or just need alterations, this could take a while to get it perfected.  The same goes for your bridesmaid dresses.  You may still need a last fitting just before the wedding.

If you have everything scheduled and taken care, you can relax and enjoy your own wedding.
